Our custom Canadian experience encompasses the complete immersive adventure. We have been conducting these group adventures in the Inside Passage of Vancouver Island since 2009 in this truly special place.
The complete package ensures every chance of seeing the Resident Orca Whales, Feeding Humpback Whales, and a Full Day Grizzly Bear viewing Experience from the comfort of a super fast boat.
6 Days of exploring the Majestic Johnstone Strait, Broghton Archipelago and the Queen Charlotte Strait in quality expedition sea kayaks, self contained camping in Base Camp and Wilderness Camp sitessettyling into the rythym of the experience whilst observing wildlife including migrating whales, seals, stellar sea lions and the plethora of birdlife that make this region home. The Broughton Archipelago is home to Black Tail Dear and some 200 Resident Killer Whales ( Orca )that feed on the migrating Salmon in the summer months between June and September.
Our trip is prefectly timed to coincide with the salmon run and the herring spawn when the area is alive with sea birds, whales and bear feeding on the rich protein they provide.
day nomadic sea kayaking expeditions provide you the opportunity to really explore and experience the remote wilderness areas of Johnstone Strait, Robson Bight, Blackfish Sound, Queen Charlotte Strait, the Broughton Archipelago and Gods Pockect Marine Parks. We take everything we need with us in the kayaks which allows us to change camp each day and wake up to a new view each morning. It gives you the ability to visit and experience different wildlife habitats and the plethora of animals that call them home, while camping on many different islands, some with evidence of ancient First Nation settlements.
Prolific wildlife sightings and spectacular scenery.
Encounter Killer Whale or Orcas, Humpback Whales, Steller Sea-Lions, Black Bears, dolphins, porpoises and even Sea Otters.
Different remote island beach camp virtually every day.
Visit ancient village sites of the BC Coastal First Nations.
Very experienced guides, great food and quality equipment.
These tours cover greater daily distances than our shorter adventures and expose you to the daily rhythm of making and breaking camp, packing kayaks, navigation and the impact of tides, currents and weather. A nomadic sea kayaking expedition may be ideal for you if you are already comfortable with back country camping or just have a desire to experience leaving it all behind and living with what we can carry. As we are located directly in the heart of Telegraph Cove; Our trips are first on the water in the morning and last off on your final day. We will typically kayak for 5-6 hours each day with a focus on non-intrusive wildlife observation and exploration. If you are comparing us to others, be sure to ask what time you will first get into the kayaks and what time you will be finished; Not all provide 5 or 6 or more of fulldays.
This once in a li. Join us now for this incredible week in Australia's West.
